Promote Your Ancillary Services
According to the Medical Group Management Association’s (MGMA) 2008 annual Cost Survey Report (and what we’ve seen at our clients), many physicians are battling declining reimbursements by bringing ancillary services into their practices. Promoting your practice and its services to your referral sources and your patients is a good idea. If you don’t, you can be assured that the practice down the street will! Give your practice an edge by utilizing these ideas to promote your ancillary services:
- Consider a well-placed ad in your waiting room describing any ancillary services available through your practice or other practices you partner with.
- Provide reading materials about to your ancillary services to let patients know what’s available through your practice.
- More and more patients are seeking out physicians that have a web presence, so provide descriptions and pricing on your website.
- Consider hiring a practice marketing company to promote your services in person and online, giving you more time to spend on your patients.
